Devoted to one of the major sites (200 hectares) situated in the Upper Rhine Valley, consisting of an ancient Roman municipal (vicus), a military camp dating from 1st century AD and a palace fortress from 4th century.

The collections (more than 1500 objects) are divided into three main areas:

1. Military and commercial functions ( arms, soldiers equipment, stamped tiles, coins, amphorae, rare silver ingot, unique coin to Gaul)
2. Everyday life: comprehensive panorama of regional everyday life through different themes: jewellery, communal dishes, sigillated ceramics (more luxurious crockery), tools, household objects like keys, oil lamps etc. as well as an exceptionally large and well engraved agate intaglio.
3. Funeral rites and religion (sandstone sarcophagus, funeral urn, funeral offerings like glass vases, ornaments, bronze statues of Roman Gods, vestiges from a temple dedicated to the oriental God Mithras).

This exhibition includes findings from current international archaeological digs.
